The MEM - Centre des mémoires montréalaises has been commissioned for a second time by the City of Montreal and the Ministère de l’Immigration, de la Francisation et de l’Inclusion to design a new exhibition in Chinatown. The self-supporting modules present the neighbourhood’s identity sites - existing or destroyed following the transformations of the 1970s and 1980s - and the players involved in changing and defending its territory and identity.
Diane Bernier Design (DBD) renewed the appearance of the structures by incorporating a graphic grid inspired by a traditional Chinese paper-cutting technique. She managed the design of the route, its integration into public spaces, and its production and installation with the municipal authorities.
